
Bikes@Work has designed 3 practical cycle training programs exclusively for Melbourne Bike Share members
Program 1: A 1 hour course covering essential road rules and defensive cycling skills.
.....if you ride fairly regularly and feel confident using gears and looking behind, you probably just need this 1 hour session to brush up your knowledge of road rules, practise defensive cycling in traffic situations and learn how to do an emergency stop.
Program 2: A 2 hour course covering essential road rules, traffic safety and defensive cycling skills.
.....if you ride now and then but feel like you need to brush up your traffic skills, go over essential road rules and spend a little time practising defensive strategies to avoid the potential hazards of inner-city riding, this 2 hour practical session should do the trick.
Program 3: A 3 hour course covering road safety, cycling skills and confidence in traffic
.....if you ride on bike paths but feel nervous in traffic, this 3 hour practical session starts in an off road area practising fundamental skills such as, using gears, signaling and scanning and allows you to build your skills and confidence on inner-city streets. Also learn about road rules and defensive cycling strategies to avoid potential hazards.
